Dr. Cesar Z. Gonzales: Owner & Medical Director

Dr. Gonzales is a loving husband and father of 5 beautiful children. He is a native of El Paso, Texas, but has called Northeast Louisiana home for the past 16 years. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Family Practice and American Board of Addiction medicine, respectively.

He received his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and completed his residency at LSU Monroe EA Conway in Family Practice. He then went on to complete formal training in addiction medicine at Northeast Louisiana’s own, Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center.

Dr. Gonzales is personally and professionally committed to the treatment of Chemically Dependent individuals and their families, and he is passionate about seeing his patients recover and live the lives that they deserve, free from the bondage of addiction.

Tamara Johnston, LPN: Office Manager

Mrs. Tamara Johnston began her nursing career in May of 2015 after graduating from Louisiana Delta Community College in Winnsborro with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Tamara has over eight years of experience in substance abuse and mental health nursing. Since graduating, she has worked as a nurse manager, assistant administrator, and utilization review coordinator for a residential treatment center which served detox, residential, and intensive outpatient clients. She has also worked as a nurse in various other fields. 

Tamara has been married to her husband, Michael, for five years. Between the two of them, they have five beautiful children: Colby, Jacob, Maggie, Haven and Gentry. Tamara and her family are members of and attend Alto Baptist Church. She loves baking, traveling with her family and watching Maggie play softball for River Oaks School. 

Tamara has a passion for serving those suffering from addiction and is a light to all who encounter her.

Christina Bible, LPN: Intake Nurse Manager

Ms. Christina Bible began her nursing career in June 1999 after graduating from LA Technical college in Tallulah, LA with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She has worked in many areas of the medical field.  She has experience in residential substance abuse and behavioral health, utilization review and admissions/intake coordination. She found her passion for helping addicted individuals as she worked in both adult and adolescent behavioral health and substance abuse over the years. Most of her nursing career has been focused on mental health where she worked with clients who were diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and various other mental health disorders. 

Christina is the proud mother of her two children: Ronni Alexis, 19 and Rylan 16. She loves vacations on the beach and traveling with her family. Christina gives everyone who walks through our doors a big, warm welcome and is an absolute joy to be around. Her passion for serving those suffering from addiction is more than evident in the care she provides.

Kila Gonzales, RN, BSN

Medical Office Manager

Kila is a South Arkansas native that has called Monroe, Louisiana home for the past 18 years. She has been happily married to her husband, Cesar, since 2014, and they have three beautiful children, Maxwell (7), Mia (3), and Luke (1), and they have two sweet babies in Heaven, Eva and Gabriella. Kila graduated from The University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science & Nursing in 2008 and has practiced as a Registered Nurse since that time in the areas of Cardiovascular Intensive Care, Cardiovascular Step-Down, Recovery Room, ER, Marketing, and Case Management/ Patient Care Coordination. Kila is also a certified Birth + Bereavement Doula and the founder of the local Nonprofit Organization, I Will Carry You, where she walks families through the devastating loss of a child. Kila has a special passion for serving her community, especially those most vulnerable, and believes an essential element of addiction medicine is connecting her clients to resources available in the community. Kila also believes that addiction is a treatable disease and that everyone deserves a chance at recovery and ultimately a full life. Together, Kila and her husband, Cesar, opened New Hope in 2020, and she is so incredibly proud to know that this organization has played a small part in lives being saved, families being restored, and individuals finding hope at a time when they felt all hope was lost. She looks forward to watching New Hope grow and flourish year after year and she dreams of one day opening New Hope in other cities around the country.
